Animal A.I.D. of Mississippi is currently an all volunteer 501c(3) animal rescue. Our greatest asset is the dedication and compassion of our volunteers. We are always looking for people that are passionate about saving lives of the animals in our community that have come from such a past of abuse and neglect.
There are many different ways to volunteer!
Please note that most volunteer opportunities with Animal A.I.D. of Mississippi are located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Assist in finding homes for by marketing available dogs for adoption and foster, reviewing applications, contacting landlord /vet offices, conducting phone screens, setting up home visits and completing adoption paperwork. The volunteer in this role must have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with prospector adopters.
Plan and assist in coordinating fosters, dogs, and volunteers at adoption events.
Interface regularly with the fosters of our dogs to ensure that they have all that they need to adequately provide for the animals in their care. Escalate any issues to the senior team that require attention. Monitor monthly prevention and flea and tick treatment. Provide support in behavior modification and training as needed for foster dogs.
We have many volunteers who assist when they can, but are not able to commit to an ongoing role. The only commitment for these roles is to receive a regular email and/or text of upcoming volunteer opportunities.
